The capital of the United Arab Emirates will welcome its largest anime celebration to date with the Animenia festival, scheduled to take place from February 11 to 15, 2026. The event will be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat, transforming the venue into a hub for anime enthusiasts and attracting hundreds of visitors from across the region.
The festival promises a full immersion into Japanese pop culture, offering a wide array of entertainment. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch both contemporary anime series and iconic classic films, with screenings designed to transport fans into the vibrant worlds of stories like Neo-Tokyo. Beyond the viewings, the festival will feature large-scale thematic sets and an interactive gaming zone where guests can engage directly with their favorite elements of anime culture.
A major highlight of the event will be a cosplay competition with a significant prize pool of 400,000 dirhams, encouraging participants to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship. The experience will be rounded out with live J-Pop and Anisong musical performances, themed shopping stalls for anime merchandise, and a variety of Japanese street food options.
